Reel People #1: Older Guys Yonger Women
Vivid
Year Unknown, but I'm guessing 1994 (late)
(This video is not listed in the bio for any of the pros who
appear in it.)

Produced/Directed/Shot(?) by E.Z. Ryder

Stars:

Guy DiSilva, Tammi Ann, Satina, LT Moore, Sydney Dance Sanchez,
Rod Fontana, Marilyn Martyn, David Hardman

Premise: Younger women like older (40+) guys for sex because
they're more experienced, take their time, and are more sensitive
to a woman's needs. Older guys like younger women because
they're generally better looking.

(Please note, these are not my opinions -- I happen to think that
40+ women, like any other women, can be/are very sexy)

This is supposed to be an amateur series. It's supposed to look
"natural" featuring people of the opposite sex doing what comes
naturally. There's lots of anti-mainstream porn propaganda on
the box. O.K. It was 99 cent day, so I thought, what the heck.

I should have known better.

As near as I can tell, the only amateurs in the video are:
Sydney Dance Sanchez, Rod Fontana, Marilyn Martyn, and LT Moore.
The others are all pros with HUNDREDS of videos in their bio
(except THIS one, which doesn't show up in anyone's list, unless
it's under another name).

We start with a lengthy (yawn) diatribe by Mr. Ryder which
includes the admission that he had tried to get into porn but was
rebuffed. Guess this is his revenge, eh?

Each segment starts with an interview of sorts, though by the
last segment this is VERY brief, and the sex starts almost at
once. This is a poor attempt to duplicate Anthony Spinelli's
"Reel People" series of the 1980's. Spinelli is no Ed Powers,
but Ryder isn't even a poor version of Spinelli.

Having said this, I should add that some of the scenes are VERY
hot. The Disilva/Tammi Ann coupling is very erotic, despite the
excreble camera work of E.Z. Ryder (the apparent shooter for this
entire vid, he has NO CLUE on framing). Major facial for Tammi,
who fucks DiSilva into the ground. He can't keep up with her.
On the down side, Tammi needs to put on just a smidge more
weight. Counting her ribs is NOT exciting. Lots of annoying
commentary by EZ here. He needs to shut up and concentrate on
his framing. His video work would get an "F" in my TV production
class. Still, this was the hottest scene on the video.

The interview before the sex begins was interesting, if for no
other reason than they attempt to pass Tammi Ann off as a worker
in a flower stand who just happens to like older guys. Disilva
is also portrayed as a total amateur, even though he has dozens
of adult vids to his credit. Spell "scam" "v-i-v-i-d" in this
case. The other pros are passed off as amateurs as well. More
bait'n switch from the adult vid industry.

(SFX: SOAP BOX BEING PULLED TO MIDDLE OF ROOM)

What we need, IMHO, is to begin a cooperative (I know, sounds
rather left-wing doesn't it?) made up of the consumers of adult
entertainment, to produce good "honest" material without all the
hype and blatant false advertising endemic to the current crop of
adult vid producers. Please understand that I know there are exceptions
and I'm not trying to paint everyone with the same brush.

Now, back to the review.

The Satina/LT Moore bout is rather ho-hum. By this time I'm
skeptical of the whole video, having had Tammi Ann tossed at me
as though she were making her first appearance before the camera.
Yes, I'm pissed, so take my negative comments with a grain of
salt, I guess. Medium facial. Rather perfunctory performance
>from Satina. Moore seems really into it though. Lots of fake
excitement from Satina. Satina is cute, Portuguese, and giggly.
She puts on the shy act at first, but this is quickly discarded.
She is supposedly a waitress. I forget what LT is supposed to
be. He, at least, doesn't look like a pro. Some interesting
positions, but the whole thing sort of goes by in a blur.
Annoying comments from off screen by the person taking stills.
More substandard camera work from EZ.

Sydney Dance Sanchez and Rod Fontana (who claims to be an
investment banker, Sanchez is allegedly a bank teller) is
interesting. Neither of these names came up in the Videosan
list, so I'm assuming that this may have been a "first" for both.
Sanchez says it is. She has large, bouncy tits and they're real
(a plus these days). She's the antithesis of the hard-body pros
currently working in porn. Lots of nice, soft (but very pretty)
flesh here. She gets a good workout from Fontana and apparently
comes several times (using the Jaguar Nights criteria). We don't
get to see Fontana cum though. Would be interesting to find out
why. Overall, a nice scene, possibly the second best on the
video despite the lack of a "money shot" (Strangely, I didn't
really miss it -- just noticed it as odd and wondered what
happened. Given EZ's video ineptitude, he probably ran out of
tape at the wrong moment.)

The final scene, featuring Marilyn Martyn and David Hardman (with
fake grey in his hair -- sheesh what a joke!) generated some
heat, and Martyn's fleshy inner labia were fun to watch.
Hardman's fake "older man" look was stupid. Looked to me like
Martyn was the older of the two in reality, but she seemed to
have a very good time. I think this ended in a facial, but I
really don't remember for sure.

Cunnilingus fans will not find much to like about this video as
there was very little muff munching. Mostly straight fucking
with quite a bit of doggy and reverse cowgirl. No anal. It looked
to me like they were in a real hurry to get this one made. On the plus
side, there was little (if any -- I didn't notice) looping. This
could account for the fact that the scenes were so short. On the
other hand there seemed to be a big hurry to get to the intercourse and
to hell with the foreplay.

On a five point scale, I'd give this one a 2.5 at best. Poor
camera work (even amateurs can generally frame a shot better than
we see here), and basic dishonesty in terms of the premise
detract from what could have been an excellent video. There's
also a guy taking stills who is heard giving directions from time
to time which is very distracting.

The overall message on this VIVID effort is: YOU PEOPLE IN THE
VIDEO CONSUMING PUBLIC ARE SO STUPID YOU'LL BELIEVE ANYTHING WE
PUT OUT. They probably think we all believe professional
wrestling is "real" too.

I happen to have an advanced college degree and an above average
i.q. I get the feeling that whenever I watch an adult video I'm
being sneered at behind my back and treated like a moron. I
don't appreciate it, and I'm sure I'm not alone, given the
general level of discussion (with, of course, exceptions) in this
group.

Your mileage may vary.

I started to rant about the adult entertainment business in my review of
Vivid's "Reel People Part 1."

After posting that article, I kept thinking about some of the things I
said and decided that I hadn't vented quite enough . I'm
probably going to say some things that have been said here before. I
know that I am pretty much preaching to the choir. I will continue to
speak anyway, liking the sound of my own voice (metaphoricly speaking).

I'm wondering how many of those who regularly have contact with the
adult entertainment (i.e. sex) business as consumers have the same
feeling that I have often gotten, which is, that those of us who are
consumers are somehow not worth treating well. We're so hooked on porn
that we'll buy/rent/preview anything as long as there are naked bodies
in it. Or we'll spend our dollars on phone sex (for example) just to
talk to a female no matter how disinterested she sounds.

Perhaps someone in the industry who reads this forum can respond here.
I've had the feeling that people inside the biz generally despise those
of us who pay the freight. We're the "raincoat crowd" -- a bunch of
aging perverts who can't get it up for our wives and have to get our
jollies on the side. We're willing to pay to be fooled and so we'll
continue to get just that -- fooled. There seems to be little insentive
to improve things. Society's view of the sex business is such that it
is difficult to protest the frauds and rip-offs which abound.

The frustrating thing, in terms of videos, is that I know it shouldn't
cost any more to make a good video tape than to make a bad one. Yet
time after time, I see tapes featuring awful lighting, poor framing,
excremental editing, and horrible audio. I've made videos (not sex
videos, by the way, just for the record). I know it
can be done much better, and for about the same money. There does not,
however, seem to be a general commitment to quality control within the
industry. The goal seems to be to get as much money out of our hands as
quickly as possible while giving us the poorest possible product.

Again, I know there are exceptions to this. I also know that since the
bad companies continue to be profitable there must be people buying the
stuff. I wish they'd stop. There are certain companies I make it a
habit never to patronize (well, almost never -- I rented a Raunch O Rama
tape the other day for 99 cents it turned out to be a funny experience
which I'll share in a later review). I also tell the owner of the video
store I most often rent from which companies I'd like to see more vids
from.

I've seen a lot of people ripping Ed Powers in this forum. I'd like to
point him out as someone who, by and large, provides what he says he
will. I'd also like to point out the way he treats the other performers
in his videos. Ed's made some horrible videos (for which he has
apologized to his customers from time to time), but by and large, his
work has been honest (or at least much closer to honest than some of the
rest of the business).

Just wanted to get a few things off my chest. The sex industry
has to stop treating its customers like perverts (even if that's what
society at large says we are, all the while keeping its collecitve hand
down its pants/up its skirt). Thoughts? Comments?

If this thread doesn't belong in this group, let me know and I'll drop
it somewhere else.
