From: Niklas Zypher <[email protected]> I saw that _Barbara Broadcast_ is supposed to contain previously censored material, but suspicious as I am I wouldn't take VCA's word for it. I looked up the Swedish censorship records for the 70's and compared the running times of _Barbara_ and _Misty_ as they were submitted to the Swedish censors. The film version of _Barbara Broadcast_ ran just over 71 minutes and the DVD runs 77 minutes, so there seems to be justification to VCA's claim. _The Opening of Misty Beethoven_ ran 84 minutes (and 37 seconds) and the DVD runs 84 minutes, so that one appears to be uncut as well. From: "Matt" <[email protected]> I just received Barbara Broadcast on DVD which I bought from www.gamelink.com. The pissing segment is there, but you don't see the actual pissing. You will only hear the audio and see the facial expression, so it is still cut but reverted back to early 90's standard. The Gillis/Money scene is restored, but only the softcore parts. The hardcore parts are still cut out. Well it's a step :-) I didn't watch the whole DVD, just the parts in question for the immediate curiousity. The one main reason to get this DVD, in my opinion beyond all the photo gallery type extras, is the running commentary option available from Jamie Gillis and Gloria Leonard. They commented on the censorship still prevelant which was nice to hear. I am surprised VCA didn't censor that speech :-) Jamie even mentioned that it's ok to censor pissing in his opinion but they shouldn't edit out "shit" scenes! LOL!!!! Gloria was like 'what the fuck did you just say'! Jamie even mentioned how his scene with Constance Money was an outake from the movie Opening of Misty Beetohoven. No matter what is still somewhat censored, the running commentary from the few bits I watched, will make watching the whole movie very interesting. Matt | |
