A Few Words on Pregnancy and Lactation

Disclaimer: I am not a physician or nurse; I have simply researched the subject exhaustively, as I've combed various Internet posts and books on the subject of pregnancy and lactation. If you need hard data or references, the websites below are your best bets to finding pertinent information-but be sure to read the notice.
There is much controversy as to how society views pregnant and lactating women as erotic and sexual figures. Certainly, discoveries in paleontology have demonstrated that prehistoric man carved "fertility figures"--sculptures which accentuated breasts, buttocks, and bellies of the female form. Most men are attracted to breasts at all ages, originally (paraphrasing Paul Reiser) as the breakfast bar, and later--in adulthood--as the "entertainment center." Demi Moore and other celebrity moms broke new ground in the early 1990s by boldly displaying their nude and obviously pregnany forms in magazine pictorials, and many photographers such as Catherine Steinmann and Mary Ann Halpin have produced collections of entirely pregnant models and celebrities. It is obvious that many people, men and women alike, find the pregnant form the epitome of Mother Nature, as well as something to be appreciated for it's sensual and erotic appeal. Not every mother-to-be feels like "a whale" during the entire pregnancy, and the fact that women have made adult films while pregnant demonstrates that women can be extremely sexy during this time in their lives.
Sexual activity during pregnancy is quite normal, and can usually be performed in a variety of positions until the 7th or 8th month, depending on the position of the fetus in the womb, and the comfort of the woman. Orgasms can be much more intense during pregnancy, and orgasm in late pregnancy has been known to initiate labor. Orgasms are often encouraged, as they help strengthen the uterine muscles for birth. Various techniques called "Kegel exercises" allow controlled strengthening and flexing of the vaginal musculature, again to prepare the vaginal canal for delivery. Kegel exercises are especially important in the "natural" childbirth methods like Lamaze. The benefit to the male partner from these exercises is controlled pressure which can be applied to the penis during intercourse, increasing arousal. Couples often initiate and experiment with anal sex during pregnancy, as an alternative to vaginal intercourse which can cause problems for both partners in terms of worrying about "hurting the baby." Anal sex is fraught with its own controversies, so we won't get into them here.
During the early months of pregnancy, many changes occur to the body in preparation for birth. Fat is accumulated and stored in the breasts, hips and buttocks in preparation for the nutrients necessary for nursing. The breasts early on become tender, sore, and later darken around the nipple and areola, increasing in size and sensitivity as the milk ducts and glandular tissue underneath become fully developed for use in lactation. Breasts often swell one to four cup sizes during pregnancy, causing unwelcome stretchmarks, sagging and--for fashion reasons--problems getting brassieres to fit. During mid to late pregnancy, the milk ducts in the breasts open up, and begin secreting colostrum, a thick yellow/white fluid which contains mostly antibodies and lipids for the early lactation period following birth. Women in second or later pregnancies can produce normal milk during pregnancy, as their tissues and hormonal levels are already accustomed to it; women regularly nurse their first child while carrying the other within, if pregnancies are spaced closely together. As the pregnancy progresses into the 8th and 9th months, the fetus "drops" into position above the birth canal, in preparation for delivery. It's usually at this time that intercourse becomes dangerous for the fetus.
After birth, the breastfeeding system is initiated. For the first few days, colostrum is produced almost exclusively, and is Nature's way of supplementing the baby's weak immune system with antibodies and proteins from the mother's body. The full milk comes in soon after, rich also in antibodies, proteins, fat and other nutrients for the growing infant. Hormones are released by the suckling action, creating a loop of supply and demand that keeps the breasts filling as the infant drains it away. The body often overcompensates, with the mother producing much more milk than the infant can take, and so the breasts become engorged and sore. Here is where pumping and expression comes in; pumps designed to mimic the suckling action are used to express and collect the milk in bottles, for later feedings when mom may not be present (or when it's "daddy's" turn to feed baby). Breastmilk varies in consistency, flow and duration. Some women produce milk for several months before "drying up," while other women--such as Demi Moore--successfully breastfeed their children for years. Breasfeeding creates a unique bond, providing pleasurable sensations for the mother through the suckling action, and nourishment for the infant who feeds. It's again Nature's way of ensuring that breastfeeding has positive effects for both parties. And as a whole, in the medical community, breasfeeding is far superior for the infant in terms of nutritional value, prevention of allergies and other illnesses of infancy when the child's immune system is still highly underdeveloped.
So now we come to the real interest at hand: erotic breastfeeding. In Western society, there is still a large taboo associated with lovers partaking of the cup meant solely for baby, and that somehow it's "wrong" for the father to enjoy the fruits, so to speak, of his wife's labor. Many women do however enjoy nursing their lovers, although this number for the most part is either small or underrepresented. Enjoyment of nursing by the father is still pretty much kept behind closed doors, since society still looks upon such practices as incredibly perverse or abnormal. For a woman to express to friends that she and her husband engaged in sex during pregnancy is quite normal; to say that he fed at one breast while baby fed at the other would likely draw glances of shock and disgust. Why? On the other hand, fathers by and large may be apprehensive about the practice; men would either be turned-off by the idea of nursing from the same place as baby, and many men in general are turned off by the whole phenomenon of pregnancy and lactation, leaving large numbers of women deprived sexually during this time where love and nurturing are most important.
Still, there are those of us who see it as another way for husband and wife to bond with each other and the newborn. We were all infants once, most likely breasfed as well. What then is wrong with partaking of that meal later in life? In John Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath, a young mother nursed an elderly man, simply because there was not enough food to go around. In my humble opinion, if it's normal for men to appreciate breasts in a sexual manner, what the hell is so "wrong" about appreciating a lactating breast, since it is the ultimate purpose for this gland in the first place! Engorgement is often a big problem for the nursing mother, and instead of relieving that pressure with a cold and inhuman (and often extremely expensive) breast pump, why not enjoy helping one's lover by relieving the pain by the most natural way possible?
I'm not married, have no children, and I'm not privy to most of this information first-hand. I see the appreciation and enjoyment of a pregnant and/or lactating lover as another extension of intimacy, not as something that is abnormal or depraved. I enjoy watching a pregnant woman having sex or spraying milk from her breast, as much as other men would find closeups of female buttocks or pussies or intercourse erotic. Hotflix Video, a.k.a. Heads-Up BBS (HUBBS): This is the Numero Uno online video site for obtaining these types of videos. HUBBS carries the entire Ready to Drop and Lactamania series from Totally Tasteless video, as well as the harder-to-get tapes from Mike Hott and J.E.G.. They've also begun their own production company, releasing the new Krista's Pregnant Gang Bang, which looks awesome. My contact at HUBBS, Jester, is informative, and they've recently expanded their site considerably, covering a wide array of videos which aren't easy to get in the mom-and-pop adult store down the street. Hotflix is reasonably-priced, and good at getting the videos out to you with as little shipping time as possible. Check this site, folks: there are no banners. Hotflix is not paying me to gush about their site; I guarantee they are a first-rate company.

H&S Sales: This is a major mail-order company out of Arizona, started by "Crazy" Sam Xavier. It caters mainly to big breast fetish videos, but has one of the best archives of pregnancy and lactation videos, most notably the Pregnant and Milking in the U.K. series. Their website, Boobsville, is still largely under construction, but you can still contact them by phone and mail, and they have a first-rate catalog available.

Camera One: This is a site out of Genital Hospital, a newer online video company, and they carry extremely hard-to-find videos of past pictorials from JUGGS (THE magazine for the pregnancy/lactation fetishist). Past pregos such as Kelly O'Dell did both pregnant and lactating videos, and the pics look good. Prices are high, but they have discounts for bulk purchases. I've not had a chance to order from them, so comments are appreciated from those who have.
Mike Hott Video: Mike Hott operates a small amateur video company out of Monrovia, California. Although he specializes in newcummers to the adult biz, as well as some internal cumshot (creampie) and facial videos, he was one of the first guys to produce amateur pregnant videos, especially the Kelly O'Dell Pregnant Exhibitionism video, which--although decidedly softcore--is erotic as hell. His tapes are carried now through Hotflix.com, although I've not compared prices. Mike has a mailing list, but you have to order videos periodically or else he drops you.
J.E.G. Video Online: This is the J.E.G. area of Hotflix, and is one of the best amateur series ever made in pregnant/lactation films. Several of their models have graced the pages of JUGGS magazine, as well as many mainstream porn films (Sabrina, Stacy King). They have excellent production values video-wise (sound is often not too hot), but their models are incredibly sexy, including a little brunette number named Isabelle, who has probably my #1 spot for the largest, darkest nipples and areolae on a pregnant gal I've yet seen. Her video with a fellow prego beauty in a hot, lesbian tryst is one of my favorites.
Today's Art: This guy runs his small company out of San Dimas, and is known for producing my #2 tape, Trinity Loren Is Full-Bodied. Again, he specializes in big breast erotica (present day and old 70mm loop, 1970's-era models), but has a couple tapes of pregnant and lactating ladies. I highly recommend his big breast fetish videos, as he has the good eye for awesome camera angles and hot amateur models.
He operates pretty quietly, and you can only get his catalog by mailing him. Last time I spoke to him he was cutting back on the catalogs due to printing costs, but does mail out flyers of new releases as they come available--about one every 7-10 months. H&S Sales carries most of his video catalog, but I'm not sure how current they stay on the new releases. I highly recommend his video with LATINA. Top Ten List of "Must Have" Videos
Pregnant and Milking in the U.K. #4: What can I say. Incredible ladies, incredible scenes, and scenes of milking frenzy that will burn up your VCR. Beg, borrow or steal this tape, as it is definitely a keeper.
Trinity Loren Is Full-Bodied: A fitting farewell tribute to one of the few naturally big busted and big ladies of porn. She has some of her sexiest scenes in this film, and the last 70mm loop at the end is a cornerstone of any lactation lover's library.
Honey Mellons: This movie only sizzles because of Dusty's milk pump scene at the beginning. This lady had the unique combination of big boobs, big nipples and copious milk production that made her one of my all-time favorite models.
Lactamania #2: Better than the first volume, but it outdoes all those after it with the debut of long-distance squirters Sahara Sands and Crystal Knight. I recommend seeing #3 and #4 just for Sahara alone, but this tape is a fitting-enough staple of a collector's library.
Mike Hott Video (Stacey King Pregnant): Stacy is one of those ladies who seemed to fade away after making her videos, making me just want to see more of her. We never got to see her produce much after the baby, and her lactating films were poor to say the least. But she was an awesome pregnant model, and someone who I would have liked to know in person; she had such an honest, easygoing quality about her. You almost felt like she was an average gal, enjoying the sensuality her pregnant form conveyed. I will definitely miss her, and this is one of her best performances yet.
Battle of the Ultra-Milkmaids: The film that put Trinity Loren on the map as a Milking Hall of Famer. A Taste of Hyapatia Lee: Hyapatia didn't do too many pictorials and videos while lactating, and I'm sort of sad. Posts of off-topic or prurient natures are flamed without mercy, and these groups are un-moderated. Lurk if you can--you pick up a lot about the condition, but don't post explicit messages. You can pick up a lot as to how women feel about the subject, and now and again there are posts about dealing with the hubby, sex after pregnancy, and so forth. These are serious topics, folks, so don't be an ass and post something like "So how often does your husband suck on those milky tits?" You will definitely regret it.

Pregnancy Myths: How We Carry: A site from the makers of Redbook; this has lots of images (clothed) of women in various stages of pregnancy, to give an idea of the diversity in the pregnant form. This is also a good step-by-step guide to the changes in the body during pregnancy.
The Positive Pregnancy Site: Nancy Roman organized this site a year ago to demonstrate, again, the wonderful variety and beauty of the pregnant female form. An excellent PG-13 site with some good stories and images.

It's Just Another Baby: Finally: pregnancy from the father's point of view. Christopher Rywalt approaches his experience from a very humorous standpoint, demonstrating that pregnancy isn't "just for the girls anymore." It's told from a tradional Catholic stance, which I loathe, but the site is a chucklefest nevertheless.
WHAT DO I WANT TO SEE (MY "IDEAL" VIDEO)?
This is what I told Jester from HUBBS when he asked me what I'd like to see in a pregnant or lactation video:
Basically, I was wanting something involving a guy who just doesn't sit there and let her blow him, fuck, etc.. I want there to be some sort of story where the girl and guy are talking, and she's going on about how unsexy and huge she feels. Then the guy decides to show her how sexy she is and what a turn on her belly and big breasts are. What follows is a long, sensual massage, with lots of camera angles highlighting the belly as if camera guy was laying on the floor and shooting up at the belly. These are some awesome shots, which were big in the Swedish Erotica days when they shot upwards towards the undersides of the breasts, as the girl cupped and fondled them.
My idea also had some foot massage and/or toe sucking, with the inference that he was relieving the soreness of her feet from walking and carrying around that weight all day, and turning her on with his ministrations. I had always envisioned Stacy King in this scene, because she has such cute feet and I find her anklet tattoo sexy.
I hadn't gotten too much farther with the idea of the pregnant sex; usually it goes into a bj, and various positions. I was mainly interested in the foreplay aspect of it, with some witty and erotic dialogue. However, these do not go over well with some viewers, who choose to ffwd through the talk and get to the action.
As for lactation vids, this is sort of a conflict of interests. One of the major fantasies in lactation erotic fiction, involves a woman who can't lactate, due to a business trip, vacation, etc., and her breasts become engorged with milk. Usually there is some character there, a co-worker (male or female) or friend who she confides in on her problem--the hubby isn't there, or hates her post-prego body, or she find her breasts erotic while her husband/bf plays "keep away" while she is nursing. Anyway, they can't get a pump to work, and she's feeling pain; sure, she could express the milk, but it wouldn't "feel the same." So, the confidant helps her by nursing some of the milk out, and it turns into a squirtfest and sexy milk play scene. The down side to this is that the woman's breasts need to look engorged, and this can be painful for whomever the model is, esp. if they're prevented from relieving the buildup beforehand. I think the fantasy is a common one--the male or female friends of the woman find her nursing fascinating, and it turns into some sex talk about how hubby never wanted to touch them while I was nursing, even though she found it exciting.
Both of these stories involve a lot of dialogue, which doesn't work well for some of these films. You also need models who squirt, not dribble--sort of like a Sahara Sands. The ultimate fantasy is where mommy is nursing the baby, and hubby comes in to "partake" of the other unused breast, but the moment you include a child into the mix on film and you get an incredible outcry, even though I know for a fact people who have done this in real life.
I do like breast pump scenes, especially where the lady is describing how good it feels to relieve some of the pressure, or comment on how much milk she has. Again, H&S Sales tapes were good in this respect. I guess it's hard to say. The Pregnant and Milking in the UK series from H&S Sales came about as close as can be expected for some of the wilder fantasies, and again anything with a lot of dialogue means more scripts, more takes, more $$$, and potentially losses in revenue if the guys don't want the story to go along with it. For me, the story is quite important, as I've found an erotic softcore Red Shoe Diaries type of episode much more exciting than a hardcore XXX movie. I'm not saying I don't love the typical "raincoater" variety no-filler wall-2-wall porno; it's just that occasionally, I'd like to see some reflection of real life in these types of fetish films.
